Chapter 05 of the Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage mini-manga series has provided a shocking revelation that would surely shake the landscape of the Naruto universe moving forward.
After testing the curiosity of readers with the appearances of what believed to be a new set of villains through the first four chapters of the series, Chapter 5 of the Naruto Gaiden arc entitled 'The Future' revealed the identity of the hooded protagonist previously referred by Shin, the Boy with the Sharingan, as father.
Shisui Uchiha, who is regarded as one of the finest ninjas from the Uchiha bloodline and close friend of Itachi Uchiha, has apparently emerged from his presumed death to become the leader of the newly-formed Akatsuki.
Different from his compassionate old self, Shusui is now sporting a vile image corrupted by numerous Sharingans embedded in his body (like Danzo of the Leaf) and a boundless hate towards the person responsible for the death of his bestfriend - Sasuke. Although it's still unclear what is his true purpose and for whom he's working, it appears Shisui and the new Akatsuki won't stop at nothing until they captured Sasuke's toddler, Sarada Uchiha.
Speaking of the new generation of the Akatsuki, the infamous group is so far comprised by Shusui and Shin (a lot of them!). In fact, many fans are already suspecting that this bunch of Shins is sort of experiments of Orochimaru. However, in a meeting with the five Kages, Sasuke mentioned about the creation of White Zetsu army even before Kaguya Ootsutsuki, the mother of all ninja. Perhaps, the Zetsu army Sasuke is talking about and the multiple Shins in Shisui's lair are connected.
At the end of the chapter, Shusui used his teleportation jetsu (which is another mystery) to get him and Shin at the tower in another attempt to capture Sarada. Naruto and Sasuke tried to halt the Akatsuki's assault, and with Sakura on her way to the site, the next chapter is expected to be loaded with action, as the new generation of Sannins faces their new adversary that threatens the future of the ninja world anew.
